Travel Requirements for Belize
Passport: Travelers to and from Belize must have a valid passport.
COVID-19 Protocols: As of July 12, 2022, all COVID-19 public health measures at Belize entry points (land and sea) have been lifted.
Entry and Stay Details:

There is no minimum stay requirement for foreign travelers.

Travelers can stay in Belize for up to 30 days as tourists. Extensions beyond 30 days are possible by applying at the local immigration office.

Entry through the Belize Northern Border is available only via the Chetumal Bridge.

The Western and Northern Borders are open to foreign tourists from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm, and all seaports operate from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Traveling from the Seattle Area
Alaska Airlines offers direct flights from Seattle to Belize City, making travel from the Pacific Northwest simple and convenient.
Getting to Maya Heights Resort from Belize City or Dangriga:
By Air from Belize City
Guests flying to Belize arrive at Philip Goldson International Airport. From here, local airlines (Maya Island Air or Tropic Air) offer flights to Dangriga Town’s municipal airstrip for approximately USD $150. This scenic 25-minute flight takes you along Belize’s coastline and over the Great Barrier Reef.
Our front desk can assist with booking this transfer upon receiving your international flight itinerary.
Upon arrival in Dangriga, our representative will greet you and arrange a shuttle to Maya Heights (for a fee). Refreshing, cool-scented towels and cold drinking water are provided for your comfort.
By Rental Car
Rental cars are available at Philip Goldson International Airport. The drive to Maya Heights takes about 2.5 hours. Please inform our front desk in advance, so we can coordinate and provide travel guidance for your safety.

By Bus
The James Busline offers buses from Belize City approximately every two hours during the day. The bus will stop at our road entrance along the Southern Highway, about 500 feet from Maya Heights. Give us a call, and we’ll be happy to pick you up from there.
