Safari Farm Tour

The trajectory of the tour may change depending on where the animals are feeding or weather conditions at the time.

The tour lasts up to 3 hours and is guided by the driver of your Jeep.

Your safari adventure begins at our 1,000-acre farm at the end of the Red Road, in the Maya Heights parking lot. At 10:00 AM, our bright yellow jeeps will be ready to take you up the mountain to Lookout Point, perched 550 feet above sea level. Enjoy breathtaking views of the farm and the Caribbean coast while sipping on refreshments. We’ll provide a tour overview and share a detailed map of the farm.

Your journey continues along steep mountain roads with unforgettable scenery, gradually descending to the fields near Fresh Water Creek. Along the way, you’ll encounter a herd of sheep, and possibly newborn lambs—perfect for photo opportunities. The road winds through lush jungle terrain on one side, with a dramatic 50-foot drop to the fast-flowing Fresh Water Creek on the other.

Further along, you’ll pass papaya fields and mahogany trees, then briefly stop to greet a herd of horses.

A short visit follows to our farm-to-table vegetable garden that supplies the Maya Heights Restaurant, then the route takes you through the tropical fruit section and palm forest. The next stop is the Powerhouse, as the farm operates entirely off the grid. Nearby, you’ll see the drying room, which is fed by waste from the mill next door. The mill itself offers a fascinating look at how teak is processed.

Next, we’ll head to the tilapia rearing ponds, where thousands of fish thrive as part of the hydro lake’s water system, and see if they’re hungry. After passing the lower lake, we’ll meet our free-roaming pigs, always hungry and another fantastic photo opportunity!

As the safari unfolds, you’ll encounter our free-roaming cattle, gentle giants weighing nearly a thousand pounds—perfect for memorable photos. The adventure through teak forests and open pastures offers the chance to spot wild pigs, small foxes, coatis, or, with a bit of luck, the elusive jaguar—an unforgettable way to connect with the farm’s vibrant wildlife.

Our final stops include fields of coffee grown under mahogany trees, as well as corn, watermelon, and cucumbers, all thriving under irrigation. Then, we’ll ascend the mountain once more, through the Pine Trail, to arrive at the Maya Heights Restaurant, where you'll enjoy a complimentary soft drink. Lunch is available for purchase, or you can opt for transportation back to the parking lot.
